Kids Yoga Song: Wag Your Tail

Dog, gorilla, camel, hippo… Children really love this song. You can play and sing it especially to warm up before a zoo or a forest story.

Clap clap clap your hands. (Clap your hands)
Clap your hands with me.
Clap them fast. Clap them slow.
Clap your hands with me.

Wag your tail like a dog. (Dog: Press your feet and hands into the floor and lift your bottoms to the sky)
Wag wag wag your tail. (Lifting our leg into the air like a tail and giving it a waggle)
Wag your tail with me.
Wag it fast. Wag it slow.
Wag your tail with me.

Thump your chest like a gorilla. (Gorilla: Standing, we gently thump our chest and the floor with our fists)
Thump thump thump your chest.
Thump your chest with me.
Thump it fast. Thump it slow.
Thump your chest with me.

Bend your knees like a camel. (Chair: Standing, bend your knees and lift your arms, sitting down into your chair)*
Bend bend bend your knees.
Bend your knees with me.
Bend them fast. Bend them slow.
Bend your knees with me.

Wiggle your ears like a hippopotamus. (Ear Rubbing: Using your thumbs and fingers, give your ears a massage)
Wiggle wiggle wiggle your ears.
Wiggle your ears with me.
Wiggle them fast. Wiggle them slow.
Wiggle your ears with me.

*Camel pose is not appropriate for this song as we need to kneel for the camel pose; that is why I have chosen the chair pose.
